If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, and you’re based in England, Scotland or Wales, the latest initiative from the Carbon Trust might offer just what you’ve been looking for.

The Carbon Trust’s new offering: What does it include?

On the 21^st March, the Carbon Trust opened up the Green Business Fund for SMEs in England, Wales and Scotland. The fund, which will be offering some SMEs financial support to buy energy efficient equipment, amounts to up to £10,000 per business. Energy efficient equipment can include a number of things – from a new lighting system to a heating and air conditioning system, like our Hershel Far Infrared heaters. What’s more, if the finances cover it, you can invest in a number of technologies to improve your energy efficiency.

To qualify, your expected energy savings have to exceed total project costs in no more than five years. If you’re not sure whether this applies to you, you can give us a call or contact the Carbon Trust.

The Carbon Trust are also offering funded energy saving opportunity assessments for SMEs. As part of these assessments, businesses will be shown ways in which they can save energy and will be offered support in developing a business case for the purchase of energy-saving equipment.

The businesses you’ll be able to buy your energy saving equipment from will have to be accredited members of the Carbon Trust Green Business Directory. If you’re not sure who your local supplier is, the Carbon Trust team will be able to help.
