Solar Panels
Low Carbon Energy chosen by Drax to help deliver solar across UK
30th November 2021

Low Carbon Energy has officially been selected as the preferred commercial solar installer for Drax Group customers in the UK. The new energy partnership deal will see both organisations pooling their unrivalled expertise and resources to provide Drax customers with the means to benefit from cutting-edge domestic and commercial solar panel installations, helping them to reduce their energy costs and cut their carbon footprint.

A quick introduction to Drax Group

Drax Group is a British power generation business headquartered in the UK, engaged in renewable power generation. With renewable power such a core part of their business and ongoing strategy, the team at Drax were naturally very selective about who they’d work with, but were impressed by our level of experience and expertise, and the unrivalled standard to which we’d completed our previous projects – including two at Opus Energy and Haven Power, which are both owned by Drax.

Like plenty of other UK businesses, Drax aims to become carbon neutral in the next decade, but it distinguishes itself from others in its mission to take that ambition one step further. Specifically, Drax aims to be carbon negative by 2030, using a mix of techniques to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere at scale, while still delivering renewable electricity to customers all over the UK.

We’re proud to play a part in the fulfilment of these ambitions here at Low Carbon Energy, as we join forces with Drax to realise our shared vision for a greener, more sustainable future.

Benedict Ennis, Business Development Manager at Low Carbon, said: “This partnership is the culmination of a relationship that started over two years ago when we installed solar panels on a number of Drax’s offices. Since that time, we have worked with the team at Drax to refine our offer to provide industry-leading technology and service to help their customers on their journey to a zero carbon, lower cost energy future.”

Valpy Fitzgerald, Director of Renewables and Sustainable Commodities, at Drax said: “We’re pleased to be able to partner with Low Carbon, who are experts in this field. This initiative represents another way in which we can help businesses achieve their net zero goals and increase their green credentials. It allows Drax’s customers to generate more renewable power for their own use, meaning a lower carbon footprint and lowers cost energy bills.”

Here at Low Carbon Energy, our experts have over 30 years of combined experience, having helped SMEs and large corporations across a wide variety of sectors transform their business’ energy supply.

Each of our installations is bespoke, and we tailor your solution on your specific energy profile, helping us to maximise carbon reductions and save you up to thousands of pounds in energy bills. Our partnership with Drax is just one of several major partnerships we’ve struck this year – alongside our contract with Boohoo to deliver a 2.7MW commercial solar PV system. To find out how we can help you, feel free to give us a call today on 01282 421 489!
