M&I Materials is a specialist manufacturer based in Stretford, near Manchester. The energy-intensive nature of many of their processes meant their goals were simple – first and foremost, they wanted to take the sting out of their hefty energy bills. Ultimately, the team chose our experts at Low Carbon Energy to deliver a bespoke solar PV solution that would enable them to generate their own energy on-site, delivering cost savings by reducing their reliance on the National Grid while also helping them to cut down on their carbon footprint.

Once we established the details of their unique energy profile, we developed and installed a 355kWp solar PV system complete with 1109 x 320w Hanwha Qcells Modules. As a result, M&I Materials now enjoys 289,802 kWh per annum of green, clean electricity, as well as a levelised cost of electric of £0.03 / kWh. What’s more, they’re now also saving 88,969 kg of CO₂ emissions per annum, helping them to meet their sustainable targets and making the solar installation a valuable demonstration of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
“I’d like to thank you and your team for the professionalism throughout this project which delivered on time and to budget. The installation team gave us little disruption (and that was through no fault of theirs) in a very congested space and the approach to safety and quality is excellent. Please thank everyone. If you ever want to show anyone our install or want to use us for a recommendation, we are more than happy to do so.”
